My soul feels uncomfortable in its very own body. I wonder if I am a disappointing it or choking its voice. It doesn’t communicate with me anymore in the way it used to before. Is it that I am not having sufficient solitude to entertain it? Am I embracing life that will yield only worldly pleasures or am I preparing for Hereafter?
I like to look good, who doesn’t? Perhaps, if not good, then at least presentable. Does looking good serve the reason of my existence? Should I be worried about my physical appearance or the appearance of my spirit? If I came face to face with it someday, will I be able to recognise it. Mirror is my best friend, I love to watch the young woman I am growing into but do I have the courage to watch the reflection of my soul in the mirror? I am always posing for a good picture if somebody flashes their camera in my face. This is the age of ‘Selfie’ – one can hold their cellular phone to their face and capture an incredible shot. I will like to see a ‘Selfie’ of my soul. I am told beauty lies within then why this world is chasing the material beauty that is unsustainable; something that is destined to be destroyed.
We are the nation of fools. We blindly follow. ‘Fuck’ is a casual word for adolescents; if they use it then they think they sound very modern. Another very common word, ‘Bitch’; everything can be described in today’s world with the help of these two words by people around me. Of course, there are exceptions to these cases; hence none of the subject should be taken personally. When will we open eyes and realise it is already too late to undo the damage we have caused to this beautiful planet? When will we stop bullying that quiet girl in the corner of the classroom? When will we stop this disease of Racism from corroding our unity? When will we stop hating if our hearts are capable to love abundantly? I ask this 5-year-old boy to draw a heart. He doesn’t draw the complicated biological heart with veins and blood streams but he takes out his red crayon to draw a gigantic ‘lovely’ heart on an A-4 sheet and then colour it all red. He is innocent and doesn’t know how our hearts have blackened over the years. Without any proof, you call Muslims terrorists. Without any knowledge of their Holy Book, you accuse their religion of preaching hate and war. If terrorists in this world give a bad name to Jihad, did you ever take the initiative to ‘Google’ the word ‘Jihad’? No! You didn’t because you are happy with what Media is feeding you with. You are contented to be a blind-follower. Then why don’t you invite Zombies over and let them take your brains? At least, somebody will get fed.

One can see the soul that lives within by the reflection that shows outwardly by the actions which one displays. Does one love or do they hate, do they inspire, help, teach, lift, promote positive change , or do they engage in what destroys and tears down their very existence, inward spiritual growth that blossoms forth in actions of peace, selfless love. One cannot know selfless love, unless they truly know the creator who does not hate, Gods ways are above human ways, and those who seek God truly, will find him and will find that all in the world surely fades. Gods beauty is eternal, if you embrace that love, then inwardly your soul, your spirit will blossom and grow with every kindness you pass another’s way. And the glow of your spirit will emulate his goodness., and you will plant many seeds in others, for they will seek the goodness which exudes from you within. You become what you feed your heart, mind, and soul daily. If you feed your spirit more with the grace from God, your will grow stronger inwardly each day, because his power is eternal, always embracing, always growing. If you feed yourself only worldly food, and pleasure, you will receive what you in turn sow. You will become like those of past civilizations, who have faded away into dust. Of the flesh, it counts for nothing, of the spirit, its wealth lasts eternally. Naima, do not overfeed either side but maintain a true balance and you will continue to grow beautifully, No one but God is perfect. One can find spiritual peace and lives a wholesome life. We one day will be free from that which fights our spiritual nature… one day when we are free from the flesh, we will be born again in a perfected spirit…and yours by your selfless heart is growing towards that end, which is a lasting true beginning. I am always proud to have you as my sister…I love your heart, soul, spirit, and mind! Spiritual hugs always!
Thank you for this wonderful input Wendell, I agree that God is perfect and His was are different and above human ways. Our actions reflect the image of our soul and in this world where love and care is very much needed to mend everything that’s broken, we are still busy fighting each other and encouraging wars. It breaks my heart to know that we will just worry about the mask we are wearing and not the real us. May Almighty show us all the right enlightened path. Amen.
Warm Regards,

Passing Moments
A moment does slowly slip away each day
Seemingly so unimportant as it does
Missing something which could have made it special
If at that time someone felt His touch of love
For a unique moment that seemed so short in time
Could have a distinctive impact on someone’s day
If passed along was a kind encouraging word of life
That within their heart at that moment might stay…
For we each let so many moments slip away
Where a strong foundation could have been shaped
By small but powerful words of encouragement
Being laid where they are not easily displaced
For every moment in our lives are important
To our Lord God and Savior each and every day
For in truth it is in those very moments
One really needs to hear Him softly say
You can make it if you now call out to Me
After one of My my children planted the seed
For I will bring about a great harvest in your life
With all the spiritual grace and love you will need.
Have a wonderfully beautiful and blessed weekend Naima, my deaar sister!

very strong n insightful niama. there are misconceptions everywhere in a lot of different areas. however, beauty can be two-fold. it can have beauty of the physical to match that of the inner spirit – it’s an angelic presence as I see it. as to the “f” word and “b” word, well, I can tell you at least here in the states it’s a very common thing. it’s almost like it’s a way of making one tough persay. however, it’s an immature process as well as kids we get that feeding off of others that are older than us as that gives us an impression that is what makes you cool or tough. as to the muslim faith n the misconceptions surrounding it has much to do with those that feel that they know all there is to know.
So true. So many times I myself am faced with this dilemma. Should I do something because I want to or because it is considered the “in thing”? Hopefully we won’t succumb to these societal pressures. Especially us teenagers. We need to redefine ourselves according to our will. There musn’t be a norm or some rulebook that we have to follow because it is “cool”.
This ‘cool’ phenomenon is only for fools. Thank you for reading and all the best for your future.
