Damaged Beauty

He was terrified of loving her,
Not her flawless smooth skin,
Or her bright crimson eyes,
The silken texture of her luscious lips,
He was afraid of the storms inside her,
The disasters which made her a breathtaking mystery,
The irresistible and impossible work of art she was,
And if he was to shed all her skin down,
So he could try to peek inside her soul,
As though to admire the perfection he would see,
The light beyond the shadows of her physical appearance,
He feared to admit to himself,
That she was beautifully damaged,
But like the rest, he was scared to unravel,
The mysteries that were woven into the basis of her existence,
He was tempted to experience love in its best form,
Nonetheless he was afraid to tame the storms roaring inside of her,
He was scared to let go of his desires and transform,
His fear into a superpower to be able to see through her,
And hopelessly fall in love with her beautifully scarred heart.

About globalunison

Writing is my passion and that is what I do here on this blog. I write about everything, whether it be Nature, Love, Hate, Relationships, Humans, Personal Life (where I discuss lessons learnt through real-life experiences), Food, Philosophy (sometimes) and much more. I write in any form whether it be Prose or Poetry. I am in search of ‘Myself’, hence there is not much I can tell you about me. Perhaps, I have a very brilliant idea. Why don’t you come along with me on my journey? I will always care to share and you can also enjoy the ride. For now, this is it. I am ‘ME’ – a wanderer in search of a fulfilling life. Until next time, Love Living Life! I express my sincere gratitude to all my Readers! -Naima

  6. I like this a lot, Naima. It is beautiful. I want to tell the guy to “man up” and try with her. Sure, a relationship like this is difficult and scary but it could end up being wonderful…you know? Cheers on this one.

    • Everything about falling in love and experiencing and experimenting with love can be scary but it is our choice whether to give in to our fears or not. Thank you for your wonderful comments always!

I wish you find someone who thinks so as well. Not only says that, but really thinks so… Which is rare.

  10. This is so complex and yet so simple. Such a beautiful paradox Naima. 🙂

  11. Beautifully written words 🙂 It’s difficult to tame someone’s mental storms until that someone submits to you. But, trying to make her know that you care enough to be with her is okay I guess 🙂 Loved the poem, Naima 🙂
